Leave your ego outside before entering the gym.

Diet - Reduce bad stuff slowly n gradually

Dress - Invest in good gym clothing n shoes from Day1. Will give you some confidence

Be consistent, everyone starts somewhere so leave ego outside of lifting heavy from day 0. Keep your diet clean and high in protein. Its equally important as being regular in the gym

Make sure you go regularly, no matter what, even if it is for 15 mins. Make sure you put the dumbbell/weights back in the rack, respect the machines, weights and people always, always carry your napkin and clean your sweat. This is rule #1 of working out.
Be patient and enjoy the process and don't overthink about the results. Ps. I am working out from last ~11 years :)
