Switching to Java from python and cloud engineering

Lead engineer having 13 years of experience. Started with Java and frameworks, mid way switched to cloud native development using python. But seeing limited python opportunities in companies now. I’m thinking of going back to being a Java developer. But I have a huge gap of Java 8 to 23 versions which is a bummer. Need suggestions. Is it worth to take the plunge and get Java proficient now ?
