Depends on your financial position. If your dependents rely on your Income yes, If not then avoid.

Go for the simplest ones, but no riders etc, and those term just complicate the structure.

Go for reputed brand that can't go bankrupt in 30 years

Term insurance is definitely better than ULIP policies sold by LIC, in the name of life insurance. It's always good to have. I don't see any downside of having it. Check the policy which has the highest claim settlement ratio, and go for it
