Thanks GV community for talking some sense into me

Got an offer from one of the top 5 FMCG brands with way better pay. I learned a very important lesson of being patient. I was about to resign that day but you guys talked some sense into me to not quit without offer. Happily put in my papers today

More people should take lessons from this. Random people can sometimes hype you up about quitting, it's how it happens in movies.

Sometimes being sane and patient is all it takes. Marathon, not a sprint.

It makes no sense, even if you have resigned you wouldve got this offer, I dont see how both are connected, well we should stop doing both encouraging rage infused decision and also aksing the frog to be patient while sitting in thr boiling water which ultimately will have consequences. People should do what they want with faith; if you lack it introspect.

Agree to your point. Recruiters take you for granted and try to exploit the people who are on their notice period or have quit. I don't know how they would have perceived my resignation hence both are related

Well, in cases like us, where the 90-day notice period is the very first wall we hit during our initial conversation, being on notice is actually an argument for. Anyway, I never left an organization without an offer in hand, but this company you see besides my username is going to make me, very very soon.

I remember an incident from this, last year in September I got an offer from a firm , I joined it and within two days of joining I got an offer from another firm where I interviewed, without researching about it, knowing they are offering better pay. I left my job, later got to know the firm for which I left my job is fake. I regretted later on. The biggest lesson i learnt is to be patient when dealing with such things

Guys, I did it! I quit my toxic boss.

Without a job in hand and now I am fucking scared that no one will hire me.

Last week I had put a post on GV about getting selected at a company but not receiving offer. I’m happy to update that I have received the offer and accepted it. Turns out I was being impatient out of frustration. All’s well that ends we...

Finally got a job (here's the do's and dont's)

Context: 10.5 YOE, Marketing lead. I've been looking for a switch since September last year. I'd seen signs of maybe my role or the company itself folding very early and knew 'twas time to bolt. But it's not that easy. Back then - 1 year...
