A good question is - what was the metaverse?
Good riddance
Along with Crypto.
I believe Industrial Metaverse will survive, like VR/XR based training, AR based navigation in warehouse, Digital Twins. Here need integration of IoT,AI also. In later stages may be holograms or headmount devices that will project our mind thoughts in real life(lookslike sc-fi right😝).
It's not dead, it's just that companies have realised there aren't many applications outside gaming and enterprise visualisation that need it. That being said we do make such software for our automotive customers who want the look and feel of their cars from design to stimulation stages. Immersive VR experiences immensely help.
God alone knows how their metav division racked up a sunk cost of 13 billion dollars last year… did they hire everyone in bay area or may rented luxury yachts for wfh in exotic locations like tahiti
