The unluckiest batch?
After seeing current placement stats of top IITs, even after Day6 not even 50% of the batch is unplaced can we say that 2024 is the unluckiest batch?
Students with good CGPA, having internships in reputed internships are not getting placed. It's worse for mediocre students.
What are alternativev for these unplaced students?
I read an ndtv article which said 700 offers were made on day 1 at IIT kgp
That included PPO. The actual offers made were around 200-250 which includes students with multiple offers. Also, the strength of IIT Kgp is relatively high. It is still an impressive number though.
Yeah out of 1950 students registered 200 got offers and 450 got PPOs
It’s going to be the norm. Currently companies have stopped looking at iit tag as a proxy for intelligence. There are selective even within IITs. That’s what you get when you dilute the entrance exam so much with easier tests, more weightage to boards, and reservations.
Don’t get me wrong. You will find geniuses, and still a higher probability of smart hard working folks, but that proportion is far lower compared to early 2000s.
"Dilute", hello? The competition has gotten more fierce. The top scores are soaring high every year.
I somewhat agree with the reservation part, but easier tests, lower probability of smart people, and weightage to boards are all wrong. The competition is fierce. I have classmates who despite of reservation are doing much better than those who came without reservation.
They say this shit every year
Sit down mate. 2023 grad, got the best placement of my college and my TPO told my other offers company that I'll be joining a different company. The higher package company revoked all 2023 batch offers.
Unemployed since 6 months 🥲
