Thoughts on pursuing MTech?

Hi everyone, I'm a 2021 BTech CSE passout from a Tier-3, I have this strong urge to do mtech from IITs/NITs if possible, and I've started studying for Gate.

Background - I've 2 YOE (not 4), because I also had a career gap due to the layoff season. (Java dev primarily, and now working on Vuetify, Nodejs)

Now from a sane mind, I feel like grinding leetcode and learning system design, enhancing my resume doing some more projects on my current tech stack.

But idk why, I so strongly want to try out my luck once for doing masters. Also if I get a good rank, I'll do this offline along with my work (so it would mean a 3 year degree).

What are your thoughts on this? Help me with this decision!

How does Mtech help in Software industry?

You tell me? Does it not? If not, should I drop this whole thought?

Even in IITs, high paying companies take only from BTech I think....Not much from MTech....

People get into core companies from other branches after MTech.... But, for CSE, not sure

May be you should check with folks who are doing MTech in IITs currently and take their opinion

Masters is a good decision for your career growth. But make sure you do it from a good institute.

Ya if I get into good IITs or NITs only then I would go for it.
