I just read an Economic Times article relating to this menace.

I feel these struggling to make revenue, made private video call feature, apparently users posted explicit content and even CHILD sxual abuse video on these streams and then now they're leaked out in the open it's incomprehensible to me how the new age internet indians are doing things.

Every social media network is well aware of how their products are used and misused. They don't care because it's all numbers at the end of the day for them.

Did zucc ever imagine FB being used to broadcast murders and lynchings? No. Does he care? Probably not.

Can't really blame the platforms completely either because even if they tried to ban this stuff, it's the users who will try to find workarounds and ways to exploit. That's just how it is when it comes to mass scale products that are used by millions.

Still kuch toh galta hai na, baki me hora matlab sahi hai aisa toh nahin hota, for example YouTube has strict rules and afaik it doesn't incentivised such content.

Just because gun maker don't cares what it's used for. We don't allow everyone to use guns unlike west because maybe it's common sense, toh demographic se hisab se kuch toh self restraint hona chahiye na platforms me.

Even YouTube is used for all sorts of things using private and unpublished links. Same as any other platform.

No one incentivises these things but they can't always do something about it either.
