Told He’s Too Late to Start in Tech? Is It Too Late to Break Into Tech?

This is bit lengthy story. Can we discuss for few minutes ? This may help a person.

My friend has been working in Azure AD (Service Desk) for 5 years at Cognizant. Recently, he decided to pursue a more technical role by learning Azure Cloud and SQL. He’s been dedicated to this new path, spending 3-4 hours a day learning and upskilling himself. However, he doesn’t have a clear, structured learning path and is feeling overwhelmed by the technical terminology he’s encountering, especially since he’s learning on his own from random YouTube videos and Udemy.

His friend responded harshly and discouragd him, saying that due to his background in Service Desk, he won’t be able to learn these skills and can’t transition into a technical role. This comment really discouraged him and has left him feeling bad about his future.literaly he broke down 😭

I want to help him build a clear career path and find structured guidance for his learning.

Can anyone share advice on:

  1. Which roles would be a good fit for someone with his background?

  2. Recommended certifications or skills to focus on?

3)EdTech platforms or trainers that offer structured Azure courses for beginners to intermediate learners?

Your insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated!
