Coming on netflix was the stupidest thing ever. They thought that they will now cover 195 countries and in order to do that, they changed the genre of the jokes which are not funny at all. Kapil Sharma is an Indian comedian and only Indian audience resonates with him. He lost his original audience by coming to Netflix and is not gaining any audience from here. Stupidest move ever.
Yes not sure why Netflix did such a huge blunder, Kapil might have done it thinking it will give him better money or more fame (he got better money for sure but more fame I doubt).
As you said Kapil lost his regular audience and did not gain any new audience.
I watched the initial episodes thinking now the comedy would be better but it turned out to be a waste of time.
So I started watching other comedy shows on Netflix and I'm not regretting that.
