Which offer to select?

Hi everyone, I'm at an exciting yet slightly tricky point in my career and would really appreciate some thoughts or advice from those who’ve been in similar situations.

I currently have two offers on hand:

  1. KPIT – Offering 28 LPA(Fixed), from a well-established and stable organization.
  2. A product-based startup – Offering 34 LPA (fixed) with strong benefits, a promising product, and a dynamic work culture. For context, my current compensation is 20 LPA fixed + 1.5 LPA variable.

While the startup offer is financially more attractive and seems full of learning opportunities, KPIT brings in brand value and long-term stability.

Would love to hear from anyone who’s navigated similar decisions — What factors should I prioritize beyond just the numbers? What would you consider in my place?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Why leave Bosch? Can you use the offers to negotiate internally and stay back?
I have seen candidates do that so checking. Bosch also has a lot of travel opportunities without actually leaving India (you get to stay overseas for a month or so ever quarter or biannually during which you will be paid in the foreign currency).

Bosch is no more what it was back in 2020.. no internal opportunity for my job position.. after I joined Bosch my salary is still same!! No learnings.

Oh okay. Sorry to hear that. May I know your skill set?

I feel both companies have a lot of work pressure. Stability as someone stated- is a myth in today’s world.
Prioritise Work Life Balance, at least a place that respects your space and does not expect you to work beyond 12-13 hours. Does not set up meetings at ungodly hours and so on. Your health should be your greatest priority.

In my opinion present market ,No company providing job security. Most of the KPIT employees are working in a client company location(Work pressure). Better to choose a higher package it will help further job change as well and also check the project and work expectations.

I have worked at kpit for 1.5 years. After working at bosch, kpit would be a huge step down. I would highly recommend not joining it. Also may i know your tech stack currently and on what you'll be working at the start up? As I am also looking for change.

Be careful in both. KPIT will come under severe pressures as other services companies do. Like someone has said above, client pressures will be there.
On the startup, check funding and how close they are to next round. Check how stable they are.
All in all, check where your skills will grow. Work culture is what you make it😊 Best of luck!

What is your tech stack BTW? Skills and work life balance are both important in my opinion.

Go with the startup if it has a stable funding support and you like the location.

If you are leaning for KPIT then why not use the startup offer and counter KPIT?

Also whats your YoE?

I have 10 years of experience. And KPIT is not ready to increase single penny as they do not have budget itseems. I discussed about funding part they looks very good with funding and income as well. As of now I am planning to join startup and your reply was helpful ☺️
