Will AI take QA/SDET jobs too?

What should be our plan B, according to you?

On the contrary, I think QA jobs will increase. I am seeing quite a potential in AI after recently I learned some AI stuff. I think it can do way more than big companies are telling. For example, to write an AI to code software, it is quite simple to pick up a generic LLM model like gpt-3.5 and ask it to keep writing code based on trial and error methods. With enough iterations, I think it would be able to produce a working software if not perfect. Your job, would be to confirm the quality of the produced code and writing tests to ensure the AI is producing correct code.

Even my manager said the same. Came across a new term these days called as Machine learning tester.

I dont understand corporate labels, I have been a jobless freelancer for 4 years now and barely ever worked for a corporate. So for me a machine learning tester or any other label does not matter much. As long as the person is paying well for a work I like to do, I will do it with or without the label.

I would suggest keeping your title to SDET and putting a prompt testing as a skill in your cv.

No, it won't. Integration of ML models with usable software will require more QA. I am working on an AI project as a QA lead and I am not able to hire good technical QAs from last one year.
