Work 70 hours a Week

Narayana Murthy wants you to work 70 hours a week, saying, "I don’t believe in work-life balance." He argues that hard work is needed to make India a 💲50 trillion economy by 2047.

Basically, you shouldn’t live your own life; just keep slogging away like a bonded laborer so future gen can relish life in a developed country. Your entire youth should be sacrificed so others can delight in 2047.

And since when has productivity been directly linked to more working hours? The 🇺🇸US has followed a 5-day, 40-hour workweek since the 1920s, and so has 🇪🇺Europe. They promote work-life balance because it actually boosts productivity.

It’s time for Mr. Murthy to stop taunting already overworked people.
