This is a topic of discussion since a long time except until people realised giving family time is not bad/ unprofessional. The 0-5 yoe genZ wouldn’t get it or is not expected to know this.

One girl in my team was in night shift and the US client wasn't aware about this. He saw her slack and asked her why she is logged in this late and told her to log out. I guess there is no concept of night shift in US

I dont agree fully. Start ups generally jave bad wlb. Thats because they pay abnormal salaries. Starts up with decent WLB are anomalies. Big companies generally have decent WlB but can be bad based on the manager one gets.

WLB exists in India. You just need to give up your expectations on sky high salaries. Which most people won't

Why can't we have both. Mindset need to be changed

Sky high salary expectation is not a curse and not a bad thing to have.

Wlb depends on the company and team culture not
country. People working in the US can also have shit wlb maybe only Europe has some laws around it afaik.

Indian managers are worst IMO, they call you bro and put shitload of work

If they are managing you shouldn’t they give you work ?

In my past three companies it has been pretty great. Never worked late apart from few outages (maybe once or twice per year)

That’s amazing, happy for you.

Too much competition which just makes it worse for everyone. Best example is ola. Bhavesh says come here if your hunger to get rich
