Downfall of Barbershop with Shantanu?
I started hating his podcast after Razorpreneur, it was more like ameero ka Vivek bindra lol

Nothing to do with Razorpay?
Totally with you. I stopped following it after the Razorpreneur thing that they pulled off.
But to their credit they tried something new. Not sure what were they trying to achieve with it and how successful it was.
But yeah the fatigue took over and stopped watching it post that

(Wild Assumptions)
They wanted to build a cheap distribution channel to sell razors and create brand awareness but it didn't help it seems.
Brand awareness is one things, wining trust by usage is another.
Once they had enough audience. The podcast ka PnL was looking bad as he was spending companies money so he had to make up the revenue which the board may have questioned.
Razorprenuer may have been a Idea to recover that podcast Capex, Which might have back fired.
@Indiecrypto Super wild assumptions, Shantanu seems a decent man with good intentions with lack of direction currently lol

100 agree, hence saying that one decision went south

Most Indian podcasts are low on intellectual effort and merely serve for creating clout for the host

Is it going down? I never understood the USP of this company.

Disagree, selling something IRL is very difficult. Have done it firsthand, only those who have tried it will know.
Many of them still managed to tap into their own networks but plenty of them sold razors to strangers face to face. It takes a lot of effort and will to do that and teaches you a lot about people, business, economics and life in general.
His newer podcast guests don't interest me as much as the previous ones did, but i still watch occasionally. Reliance retail one was quite interesting.
He is ex mackenisy. If he can't crack market.then i don't know who can.
