Acko health insurance

Acko health insurance looks good on paper. Any reviews on their claims process and claim settlement experience?

Is it worth consideration?

Acko Health Insurance is Absolute scam, burnt my fingers recently! Stay away! They bribe the doctor to get fake report

Oh yeah, I forgot that part. Their tests are a scam. According to their tests my mom has diabetes and they had applied a loading on the premium for that. We got it checked again to be sure and found out that her test results were absolutely normal

It is an absolute no! I had applied for my parents health insurance. First they denied portability with the existing policy because apparently 1 week was too less to enable portability (the existing insurance was expiring after 8-9 days). Also they claimed that Acko will offer cover on all diseases from day 1 as they have a no waiting period policy so portability will not be required. I applied for the policy on the 7th of the month. Next step was medical tests after which they said the policy will be approved or rejected and in case of rejection the amount paid would be refunded (note I had availed the EMI option so I had paid for one month). The tests were facilitated after multiple follow up calls and messages. After the test I had to follow up multiple times to check on the status. Finally the policy was accepted by them on the 30th of the month. But the premium was increased by about 30% (they claimed that this was because they had applied a loading charge due to some health conditions detected during the tests and that this would be a one time charge and wouldn't be applicable in the following year if we renewed the policy). The policy starting date was mentioned as the 7th (the date of application) instead of the date of approval which was the 30th. I requested them to share the details of the specific health conditions found in the test results and corresponding loading applied and also contested the start date of the policy. Got no reply in writing from them despite multiple follow up calls, emails and messages. I did get a call in which the doctor mentioned the conditions and the loading applied (which did not add up) and the assurance that that information will be shared with me in writing, but never received anything in writing. They started sending me payment reminders for the second installment on the 7th of the subsequent month but I refused to pay until they shared the requested information in writing. Eventually they just cancelled the policy

They should actually mention the time it takes for them to process policy porting

Had 1 time requested pre approval for parents surgery, in the network hospital of acko,
Went smoothly, not too much back and forth.

So far soo good, but sample size is of 1 to e use personally.

Have heated from colleagues as well, never faced any major issues or rejection.

Acko products are really attractive and at a great price point but the only issue is that it is really new and there isn’t enough claims history to judge its performance. It might be settling claims now but once more claims start coming, they might increase pricing, reduce features based on their claims ratio which can’t be predicted. Best to go with health insurance firms who have a had long history for safer bet.
