Following Currently working as both (startups dont differentiate b/w BE and devops) Would like to know if devops specialisation pays more. One definite plus is devops is stack agnostic, so you can pretty much apply to most companies, while in BE you are restricted by stack

I don't think devops specifically pays more .. devops and swe payscales are similar

How do you make the switch? Do you upskill without having any devops experience or do you have some on the job already?

Working as a senior devops in a large size startup. The pay is comparatively more than be guys if similar experience. I guess this also depends on how well you do within the role.
