unrealistic deadlines

I have a senior in my team who considers herself a manager, when she's not. She's just my senior. She will ping me 100 times in a day and delegate me more tasks before even before the first one is complete. She knows nothing about how work is done as she keeps delegating it to others. If I don't respond she keeps calling and she calls me in the middle of the night too. I have a really cool manager who doesn't ping me daily, will only ask for the deliverables on the deadline. I would have ignored my senior as she's not really the manager but she is the manager's pet. I have seen her delegate tasks to her seniors as well. It's been only a month since I have joined. Any advice on how do I deal with this? It's getting really frustrating.

I work at a small scale startup where I interact daily with the CTO whom I directly report. Recently, he has been giving tighter deadlines for critical projects at work and is not willing to discuss anything related to the scope or timeline of the projects. He just expects me to finish everything in x number of days without asking for even the slightest estimate of the duration. This has led to me missing due dates for projects which he later blames on me quoting poor performance during reviews. Has anyone encountered such problems before? How did you handle it?

If you mess up on a client engagement and can't finish a task properly? What happens ? What are the repercussions? I'm a fresher and I don't know what to do anymore ? Is this normal ? It's only been 7 months here , I'm a campus hire and I feel out of my depth? Seniors don't help that much as they're too busy? My anxiety is really high and I don't know really know what to do anymore. Any tips advice would be helpful?

My Manager told me that I am not performing well and suddenly put me in PIP plan . He has already told me in September that my performance was low, and I have worked hard after that to show him. Even in 1:1s after September he has told me that I am improving. But I did not expect him to give me the pivot document suddenly. He has given a project which I was already working on and now I need to deliver it by Nov end. The L4 (front end/software engineer) tasks are not easy to achieve, but I am scared about the fact that recession is coming and this might be an Amazon way of kicking people out and even if I delivered everything he asked for, he can still decide to kick me out. So , can anyone help me with referrals and tell me what should I do at this situation? What is the best way to survive PIP as well as prepare for interview? I am in L4 and have worked for amazon for 14 months till now.

So thing is In last 1 week my manager/project lead has been threating that you will have to work on weekend if you dont complete your task by friday and put the the task to testing. And this boils my blood soo damnn much . But as a person who is on lowest level i cant do/say shit. I just disagree with him and dont argue. What would you have done .[ practical advice only] And thing is i do all my dev work on time even earlier almost everytime and he just goes around and threatens everyone with this. Soo annoying thay dumbfk needs to get rekt .

Our team has hired a new PM who is a huge micro manager. We don't really have a sprint planning so all the tasks are decided based on availability. Tasks that do come from him are of unrealistic deadline and most of them need to be done by EOD even if the task comes in at 7pm. Dude just mentally skips the time needed for testing and other processes. Also constant pings regarding the status updates is really frustrating. This is one of those bad PM/Managers meme cone true. I would have quit if I was not in a bond until next year July. Need some tips on how to survive this asswipe for the next 9-10 months without being under constant stress and going into severe depression.

I’ve been insufferable at work since 2-3 months now. Total time at my company- 6mo 21 days. Profile - Product Management My engineering team seems to be taking no ownership and always have their brahmastra ready that it didn’t come from product’s side. QA again is so great that I have to sit and thoroughly test each release end to end. My manager- he’s quite interested in taking my career fwd as a project manager. (I am not) He’s a total asshole and is quite concerned with start dates and end dates of tasks ( mind you, I am not the one actually writing the code but somehow the dates are my responsibility). He totally micromanages and somehow keeps blaming me for each small thing. Examples: - My engg team isn’t taking ownership: “you aren’t keeping them motivated enough” - This isn’t a last minute change : “Do you attend standups? You aren’t communicating well” - The QA tested and approved it, hence we released it. : “But did you test it? “ - Here are the release notes. : “This looks too jazzy, did you copy from GPT” - Here are the release notes. : “This looks too basic, did you not copy from GPT” I could go on forever. Gust: I am quite unhappy and is causing me unnecessary stress everyday. Also I don’t feel there’s a solution possible

1. Who decides the deadlines for tasks? Are you responsible for scoping the task or does a senior do it for you? 2. How often do newer, more urgent tasks come in when you are working on your planned task? Does the deadline for the planned task move in such cases? 3. Do you often have to work long hours and over the weekends to meet the deadlines? How often do you think that the deadlines are unreasonable?
