Any news on who is getting it, what's like an average payout for eligible employees? As per the news article, approx 19000 employees are getting it. Anyone has insider info?

Please share how your company esop policy is. Is it really valuable for employees or just used to create hype and retail talent. How many years can you exercise them after resignation? How did the taxation go if someone has been lucky enough to convert it to cash? Should esops be a factor while leaving current company or joining a new company?

Employees @Flipkart are set to receive a one-time cash payout from a $700 Mn employee stock option plan (ESOP) buyback. ⁠

Consider this scenario: A well established publicly trading company is giving you $45000 (120 units) worth of RSUs, with vesting schedule of 4 years. The work culture seems stressful (asked from ex employees) and they have a 4 day work from office where they track your badge attendence. And a Series B startup is giving you $45000 (9000 units) worth of ESOPs with vesting schedule of 4 years. It has scope to go for Series C and D fundings and even IPO in 4-5 years. The company is flexible in remote/office setting and has some perks like: once a quarter a selected Monday will be holiday, yearly offsite to exotic places. Which one would you prefer RSUs or ESOPs? and why? Kindly explain why your preferences.

Started working in 2017 (Graduation: Tier 2 College) in hand salary: 28K per Month. Worked for 2.5yrs, had big dreams, didn’t knew what to do, how do I 10x my salary, saw my manager 40yrs old earning 25LPA in the same company. Before 2030 plan to achieve FIRE with 8Cr networth. By 2040 make it 100Cr and retire. Chill at beach with beer in hand and two other friends. Hi Folks, Can you help me with the difference between RSU and ESOPS ? I'll share my understanding, requesting the community to help as well. Assumption for comparison: ₹/$ 100,000 worth of RSU vs ESOPS vested of 4 years equal distribution from 1st Jan 2024. RSU: Since these are given for listed orgs, ₹/$ 25,000 worth of stocks are vested every year starting 1st Jan 2025 , 1st Jan 2026,1st Jan 2027 ,1st Jan 2028. ESOPS: What happens on 1st Jan 2025 ? Does the employee need to buy stock options worth ₹/$ 25,000 from his own pocket. ( I know they are given based on current valuation divided by number of shares plus some discount and FMV Stuff) Main point here is , incase of ESOPS whatever is stated at a part of compensation, employee need to shell out of his pocket? Is there anything I'm missing?
