What do you hate about designers?

We have had new designers recently in the team which have made our life hell. Only thing they want is pixels perfect design to be made due to which our projects deadlines have stretched a lot and bothered our work life balance. Introducing new designers to a team can bring fresh perspectives, but it seems these individuals might be focused heavily on perfectionism. Their insistence on pixel-perfect designs is causing delays and affecting our team's workflow and deadlines. While their dedication to detail can be commendable, I think it's essential to strike a balance between quality and efficiency to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Also these folks are making everything so design heavy that we also have had CVR drops. New design looks flashy and barely good to use for normal users. Thoughts?

All you ux/product designers, share your journey as a product designer in indian companies. When did you make your first big buck and what was that journey like

Early in my career, I was working with a client who was always frustrated with me. I was also frustrated with her because she always used to give design inputs and had horrible taste and decision making was absolute shit. I got so angry at that woman that I added a middle finger gesture in the reflection of the water. It was super unnoticeable but if you really knew where you were looking at then you could make it out. The craziest thing is that they actually posted that in their social media. 😂 What is your design horror story? 😂

Whenever I overhear someone say that, "Can you just make it fast? It's just a simple design, so it shouldn't take long, right?" it makes me a little pukish. 🤡

Hey is it me or anyone else faces payment issues with clients who are availing UX services. They make contracts and before we get a hard copy contract, they dislike your services are don’t pay at all? Is it common? How to deal with this?

I just want to know how designers and pms are placed in a company? Because where I work I feel the PM is really dumb and she doesn't understand ux or even a bit a sense of visual design on how ui should work. She says "I don't really care how a button looks as long as it's there on the page". And I keep her in loop for feedbacks and she just doesn't understand the problem statement. Initially I thought maybe I'm not explaining it correctly but it's almost a year now and I feel she's dumb. She's actually a friend of the CEO so she agrees to whatever he says and he's kind of similar so I don't really know what to say. Also, I always work on a new project without having a PRD in place. So again is that how it's supposed to go where I do the PMs job and a product designers job or how is it? Any comments or thoughts are appreciated 🙏

Hi Grapevine, I am currently applying to Enterprise / SaaS organisations in Bengaluru and getting confused when trying to benchmark my level against different companies as they all use different employee leveling scales. This is getting to be an issue as the salary range is generally benchmarked to the level of the open position and I'm unable to reply confidently to the recruiters on my salary expectations. My most recent position was as a Senior Lead UX Designer in an IT Services company. I was leading teams of 3-5 UX and UI designers for end-to-end design engagements and my clients were large MNCs including a fortune 50 pharma giant. I was also involved in training and evaluating associate designers and expected to contribute to design proposals for potential clients. What do they do exactly? Many of them are earning well. I'm referring to those who work in big MNCs or large startups. I can see many companies with little to no ui changes over the years. And there are some companies which don't require a ui designer to work everyday as their products are deployed and there are less changes over the years. This made me question what the hell they are doing. Some even start with 50+lpa with no experience, in tech companies. I would also like to mention that some of these companies which hire designers for big bucks don't even have a good ui. Are companies giving away money for them to do nothing? These are based on some people I know who work in this industry.
