Why do agencies pay so less

Can anyone tell why digital marketing and advertising agencies like GroupM and WPP pay so little to their employees. I mean Digital Marketing and Advertising professionals with 5+ years of experience in Brand Management - Client Servicing team doesn't even get 10 lacs. Such big companies with such big clients and that less CTC? I am curious how much a VP or Director level professional would earn in such agencies?

I've handled copywriting, creative strategy, and execution for brands for the last 8+ years. Many of those in agencies, and the last few in a B2B SaaS tech company. Because of my agency background, I know I'm pretty underpaid, but since that can change now, I wanna know what's the baseline for my profile considering my experience. I kill it with creative requirements for branding, paid promotions and literally anything under the sun that the brand needs. Nothing long form, because that's a different ball game altogether. I'm getting just under 20LPA right now. I'm up for appraisals soon. I've been with this company for 2+ years. Please tell me what's the salary bracket I should be in. I'm great at what I do, just not this salary stuff 🤦🏾‍♂️. Please help a brother out! Looking forward to your responses, or questions if y'all need any more clarifications to give an answer. I am working at a design agency from 2 years with a CTC between 4 to 6 LPA which way to less considering my experience and the work I am doing handling multiple clients, delivering Designs in tight deadlines and yet getting paid way to less. But considering current situation the market is so saturated that I don't hear from companies that I have applied for.

I am a self taught graphic designer with two years of experience. In which I have worked in a well known startup as their lead graphic designer including some in house and agency roles. I would like to know about the salary to expect or quote while getting offers from agencies based in Mumbai or Bangalore!

How is job market for Digital Marketing and growth for B2C. Most of the interest first or mobile first companies are not hiring or hiring at very less exp. and pay. Can see opening for B2B or product marketing but nothing much from Growth or Performance marketing. Read there are many who have been laid off some more than 6-8 months but still struggling to find the right opportunity. Also many senior level guys, on LinkedIn have got into consulting or Fractional CMO roles as they package might be high and no one is in need of such experienced senior ppl team. How or when this will change ? During 2018 or even 2020 many said Digital or growth marketing will be the future, demand will increase as all business, users go online.. but now seems to be other way round..
