I am currently working as a Senior Auditor in a Big4 with 5 years experience in statutory audit. I am not a CA, so either I have to complete CPA to become a manager else I have to be in the same designation. I am looking for an option to switch job. Any suggestions what role could I be exploring?

I am a new associate. All tasks assigned to me do not require any skills or a college degree. I feel like going through this will stagnate my skills. Every-time I show initiative, I do not succeed at making my team assign me more of the challenging tasks. Should I be more patient or look for another career or other big 4? I feel like a glorified admin assistant in my current audit role. Maybe even admins do more challenging work.

Hi all. I am in a slight dilemma if I should move to an industry or move to a similar department in an audit firm/Big 4 as such. What would be your opinion?

It would be easy to find out who I am if I say anything more but I have worked in cross-collaborative roles across my careers spanning multiple decades in Big4s. I have led several projects for Govt of India and Public Sector Organizations. Personally I have worked in multidisciplinary fields mostly in IT and Databases. I have recently worked in Solution designing and Enterprise Architecture for many large orgs. Most of this is Digital strategy for many offline first businesses. Ask me Anything!

Hi I am CA who is working in big 4 offshore practice in audit division. I want to move away from audit in a more diverse role. Is it possible to move from audit after 3 years at a decent increase in package if i am willing to learn new skills.

How is the work environment in the Big 4 firms for CA articles who have finished Intermediate? Is there enough in-depth exposure for articles who have chosen Audit?

Why do so many people work in the Big 4 given that you have to work so many hours and your work life balance doesn’t exist. Is having a Big 4 on your CV really worth all of that hassle and not having a life in your 20s? What about you guys? What are your personal reasons for staying with the big 4?

I recently joined a small firm as an article, my friends however joined big-4's, I see them working 15hr/day whereas I'm working around 8-9hrs, I get the hype of a brand name and all but does it actually help in the long run? I wanted to join big-4 but despite clearing in 1st attempt with regular college(university of delhi) , I didn't receive any calls from any big-4s. Should I take a transfer if an opportunity comes up or wait for industrial? Views?

Hi everyone, would appreciate some suggestion/guidance. I, 29F, am a chartered accountant. In the first 3.5 years of my career I worked in a small CA firm where I could get exposure of small clients in all areas like tax, audit and other compliances. Later, I switched to a company in transfer pricing field and have been working here for 2.5 years. After having worked here, I realize I wish to mak my career in corporate tax and not in transfer pricing. But this would bring about a cut in designation and pay, not sure to what extent. Any suggestions on how I can make this transition easier without significant cut of pay?
