What does it take to get hired as a ux designer at maang?
Would genuinely want to know this. Also have seen most Microsoft designers only be from iit or nid? Is this a pre-requisite? Do they not consider candidates from other design colleges?

Usually they do hire from Top D-Schools, but if you can right skills and right referrals.
I got offer from Microsoft as a fresher in 2022, I am from Tier 3 non Design background.
But Didn’t join, coz I
They do hire from other colleges but in big tech there is little obsession of Tier1 institutes. A false assumption is that IIT/NID peeps are better.
Them Being from similar/same background, there often is an overlap of thinking and ideas, NID peeps tend to be more into the Social Impact aspect which can help these companies balance both Product/Business focused and Social or People focused diversity.
The obsession sometimes is so bad that they have hired from Lower or Newer NIDs/IITs and blocking out some top non IIT design schools.
