As I am an intermediate coder, how many months preparation is required to crack sde 1 role in uber, google, Microsoft, etc.

Hi guys, I have been into development for almost 5+ yrs but had never been into DSA Preparation. As after such time I have been trying to learn DSa thoroughly but the topics seems very difficult some time or I forgot things had to visit again and again. These things making it very difficult to maintain consistency and regularity in learning. At times it feels to leave the thought of applying at faang. Have any solutions or similar issues?.

I am preparing for a SDE-2 role in a product based company. There are many online blogs that tells me what to prepare but I am looking out from where I can learn all of these things. DSA - ? LLD - ? HLD - ? Also let me know in the comments if you are also preparing for a switch in SDE-2 roles. 🥷

I needed some help in coming up with a study plan to specifically train for Google's interview process. I currently have 4yoe, so I think the interviews will be for SDE2 role. There will be 3 DSA rounds, 1 Googleyness, and 1 Leadership round. I already have experience in DSA and have solved most of Neetcode 150 (except DP, Bit Manipulation, and some hard problems). If any of you have given Google (or any FAANG) interview before, I would love to get some guidance on how to prepare in 30 days. I already know most of the common algorithms like DFS, BFS, Sliding window, Binary search, etc so I won't have to start from scratch. Also, the recruiter mentioned that I will have only 45 mins to solve two questions: mostly 1 hard and 1 medium. So I basically have around 20 mins per problem, which I feel is very difficult to solve a Leetcode Hard problem unless you have seen it before. Did I misunderstand the recruiter? Are there any tips on how to get good at this?

Planning to start prepration for switching to other companies for SDE2, have around 3 yrs of experience now totally. What should I focus on more? I am pretty okay in DSA, but still will start from scratch. Any resources or roadmap that can help for SDE2 roles in companies like Microsoft, Google, Walmart or Atlassian, etc. Current compensation is 20lpa, looking for around 35lpa in switch. Any resources or roadmap or your experience will be very helpful, thanks. P.S. - Will be switching next year after appraisal, just gonna start preparing now.

Hey guys a master's student here . So it's finally that time of year placements have started and the first companies to arrive are the hardware companies like micron , TA etc So here's the question is it ok to start your career in these companies considering they are not SDE profiles ? I am aware that the highly specialised roles that these companies offer will end up becoming dead end in longer run . They are offering position only for the masters students How difficult would it be to transition into different core cs companies? My coding skills are not that great , still grinding out leetcode ? Should I just end up joining these hardware companies or wait and try to crack sde positions ? (The competition is extremely high for those companies and undergrads are great coders)

Hi all, I’ve been working with oracle for almost 2 years. It feels stagnant now. No new skills, newtech to work upon, moreover my position is Associate SDE but I’ve been with QA team since beginning. I’ve talked to manager regarding same but no fruitful outcome. I feel stuck. Im actively looking for switch but can’t figure out which skills to study or start from bcoz different companies ask gor different skillset. And my profile looks more like automation tester then SDE. I have been working with Infosys for past 5years(total exp) and my current salary is 20LPA CTC. I work on Apple projects and the work has become repetitive over the last three years, primarily focusing on Java, Spring, Microservices, and Elasticsearch.
