Trip coming up and I just got hired? When should I tell my boss?
I’ve been looking for a job for at least three months now and very grateful to start working next week. I’ve had a month long trip scheduled and planned since the end of the year last year (everything is booked and paid for) this month long trip is seven weeks after my start date. I didn’t mention it during the interview or during the hiring process, but I’ll be working (in a financial institution) next week. My fear is that they will fire me or be weird when I start working there, since I’ve struggled so much to find a job. I know I need to tell them and I want to. I need help figuring out the how? Any thoughts?
You should let him know on the day you join, max in the first week itself. So that they don't mind, it's still early for them to give you heavy responsibility so I guess your absence should not be an issue. The sooner you tell them the better it is
