A question to Grapevine Founder/team

Pardon me for being so naive here. I want to understand this new type of startup trend. 1. What’s the source of motivation for their employees to stick to their jobs? 2. How do apps like these think of monetizing? There is no ad, no paid feature per say. 3. Grapevine has probably built some kind of a platform. But how is this different from platforms like twitter, facebook or any other social media platform? 4. How much money do you think has been invested into building apps like this? 5. The DAU of this app based on my wild guess must be around 5K. I may be completely wrong here. 6. What according to you is the current valuation of grapevine? 7. Saumil Tripathi, the founder of grapevine is ex-google employee as per his LinkedIn profile. There is no mention of any other any other startup he owns. 8. Grapevine has a team of 10 employees (as per Saumil’s post a few weeks back) How do these guys make money? I’m awestruck by the guys working in grapevine. Building an app of this quality with no monetization in sight! Pounce on this thread with your thoughts guys!

What happens to the community the moment there are 10000 daily post creators? How will you manage that kind of scale from a user experience point of view? Does an anonymous community maintain its true value with fewer content posters and more readers? Have you thought about some of these questions during your brainstorming sessions? I'm sure you have, just wanna hear your opinions on it. ;)

"Resentment and complaint, is neither good for oneself, nor for others". Yesterday I made a post on Tech Bros from some companies and how they behave on social media. I also wrote I don't want generalize this to whole workforce of these companies. Apparently, Grapevine team posted it on Twitter and it has gone kinda viral. I saw few tweets by folks at RazorPay and honestly my rant wasn't meant for them. I actually admire one of the guy there as an engineer. But still I can't live with the thought that I made someone angry or sad. So I want to apologize for the post I made yesterday and have deleted it. @Grapevine team. I know this post won't make for a good marketing material but it would be great if you could tweet this. It will take some load of my chest. Thanks!

Hello everyone we’re hopefully going to be launching our MVP by the middle of January. Before that we wanted to market our app on Twitter and create some buzz. We are going with Twitter because that’s where we think we will have the best ROI. Indian Twitter is essentially a cesspool of folks from top Metro cities, who have high disposable income and are super opinionated— which is our TAM. Plus, I am assuming that it should be way cheaper than Instagram Ads. Wondering if anyone on grapevine has any advice on how to go about growing a brand’s Twitter page. Grapevine lacks engagement - which I believe could kill this app. Which would be sad, given how helpful it can be. What are some of the ways we can help the makers of this app boost engagement? Feel free to post any idea which you may have. The makers will thank you!

I saw the founders' posts about hiring for Grapevine. Did you guys raise funds? If not, how is this being funded? How do you plan to monetize? What's next for Grapevine?
