Procrastinating and not working hard to find a new role!

So, I graduated in 2020 and joined this org at 9 ctc, worked on good stuff for 2.5 years, got two hikes and reached at 14, got promoted as well and currently at 17. Though I gave some interviews during golden 21-23 period, I couldn't switch. Seeing my friends from college having switched atleast once, with some becoming sde2 at Microsoft and Amazon, my confidence is now broken. Although I realise my mistakes and can't do anything about past. How should I pick up from here. Just went through sample interview exp at lc, and have prepared a roadmap, however that would take another 3 months, how much impact my cctc would have on future ones. Kindly advice for any preparation tips as well.

Having almost 6yrs experience with single digit salary 😭 every friend and colleague are making a killing every recruiter I speak to just offer x% over last CTC but not the amount I ask stating budget issue. This is taking a toll on my mental health unable to focus on up skilling / working in current org plz help not sure what to do.

Hey all, I feel so shit at the moment. I’ve failed 8-10 interviews so far, out of job since a year. It seems like every interview they ask a totally different set of questions or scenarios. Whatever I prepare gets me maybe 50-60% of the way, rest are all new questions and I fuck up or I’m not able to fully give them an answer. What makes me feel even worse is that, lot of people aren’t even getting calls at the moment and here I am speed-running every single opportunity to failure. I’m so done at the moment. No idea how to proceed or what to prep.

I'm trying to get back at coding and is unable to decide between the following: - Backend (Springboot - have tried a basic application to build crud APIs) - Android Dev (native, have built few very basic apps using Java and published them) - Web Full stack (have some experience with ERN as of now) I'm unable to choose which one to focus on and not being able to take a decision is just resulting in procrastination. I know it would be better to just jump into something and go with the flow, but I'm unable to. Please help me out folks! I'm currently in a non coding role because of choice, but have always loved development and used to do it until I started working full-time (still tried a few things on the side). Haven't really figured out what's next, but if it works out, I would switch to an engineering role (either internally or to a new company)

I really don't like the practice of sharing current CTC. Not only it ties your future income to your current income but it also traps you into a vicious cycle of justifying your hikes. I've been looking for a job for the past 4 months. Recruiters usually drop my application because I don't share the current CTC. Recruiters that do entertain my application, tend to ghost me after I clear the interview. I don't want to compromise on my principle. What shall I do? YoE: 6y+ Software Developer.

Currently I’m a software engineer in corporate. But now my company has full demotivated environment and I’m not able to work or deliver my tasks. I’m applying for other companies also . But don’t even get interviews scheduled. What should i do? Should i go for govt jobs also? Should i resign first then decide? Should i continue working ? Should i think about career switching? My brain itself is not braining , and filled with such thoughts.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to switch jobs for a better pay as my current CTC is 4.06 LPA which doesn't suffice me at all. Also, I have got many calls for interviews but out of them only 6 interviews got arranged and in those interviews as well I am unable to ace them at all. I'm trying to apply for a Java Full Stack developer. I need suggestions as to where I should concentrate and how I should prepare myself. In the last few interviews that I gave, the interviewers asked questions about creating small programs and they didn't ask anything about my current and previous projects that I worked on. I need some suggestions as to what I can do here in this case. Also, how much salary can I expect for a switch if I have to answer for an expected salary. Thanks.

I always think of studying or building that one project over the weekend or complete that one chore which is pending from past 2 years! But fail everytime, I don't even move on weekends i don't like going anywhere I don't even like house full of people I just want quite time in weekends but unfortunately don't get it so I feel like I have not relaxed properly and this makes me think I deserve to be lazy all because of this have not studied from a long time so much so that I am almost back to being a noob on my skills its so freakin heart breaking where I have landed myself and I repeatedly do this every week! I can't even focus on one thing. Even if I quit social media and get serious it's just for 2-3 days max after that I am back to the procrastination den. Please guide, seriously need advice and steps that can be helpful to overcome this.

I joined TCS 3yrs ago and since then I couldn't switch. I am planning since last year March but actually not able to work on it. Even I couldn't apply actively. Currently I am involved in a role which has nothing to do with development and I feel bit less confident. So I want to know why it is so hard to leave? Does everyone feel same? Is this ecosystem somewhat responsible for this?
