How can a beginner stand out in backend web development for startups?

Hi everyone, I am a frontend developer(3yr+) who wants to switch to backend development. I am looking for some advice from people who have made a similar transition in their career. How was your journey and what was your plan? What do you recommend I should do to become a backend developer? What skills and technologies should I learn? Also, how should I handle the salary and job search aspects? Should I take a salary cut or join at the same salary? 💰 How should I approach HR or put myself on job portals? Please help me. I am feeling confused and unsure about my career path.🙏

Hey folks, how do you skill up and develop depth as a backend developer. For faang devs, most of the work is a small part of a big component unless you are lucky and get to build something from scratch. Startups folks have the advantage to go deep i believe as they build from scratch and solve interesting challenges along the way. Any suggestions on skilling up is appreciated.

I don't have the energy and time after my hectic and toxic work to do long video courses, unless it's very very good. Can you please suggest a way that I can learn backend Development in a way that I can create my own product from end to end? Move to devops I need advice which would be more feasible and why. Keeping interests aside as of now since I would be new to both domains. Any new ideas or domains are also welcomed!

I'm a 2nd year student. Teaching myself native iOS app development + algorithmic problem solving + core CS subjects. Now I have exactly 6 months left before the summer internship cycle starts. Turns out there aren't many iOS focused internships out there and I would very much like to future proof my intern prospects. What do you ,experienced folks, suggest I learn so that I can not only make decent projects but also contribute and learn while interning. Right now I'm inclined towards learning Backend development in Java+Spring Boot. If you have any other suggestions, kindly send them my way. Also to the folks who work with Java/Spring Boot, what level of complexity of projects would be the bare minimum to leave a good impression?
