Stucked. Darkness is crawling in.

I was stuck in the UPSC cycle for a long time and never made it to the final list even after pushing my limits. It has been 5 years since I graduated from Btech CSE. I want to enter into the tech industry for my livelihood, it seems like a last option but my confidence is at rock bottom, not even getting any opportunity anywhere. No matter how hard you try, how close you are to your final knock, life works as a Boolean. 0.9999 is still less than 1. I have no answers only questions. Am I too stale for this industry?

Not stale but you have a long road ahead, the hard work you were putting for upsc you have to do the same for maybe a year. Also I would say go with FE for now, if you start with Backend too many languages option and a lot of things to learn and understand, eg databases-there are again a lot of options depending on use case. For entry picking FE is relatively easy, plus the projects that you build using can be deployed and shared as a portfolio. Easy for ppl to see. Once you get your foot across the door, depending on your interest starting picking BE work as full stack and then transition to BE or FE as per your inclination and liking

I also did upsc for sometime. The. jumped back to tech. As you are an upsc aspirant, same amount of hard work will bring you lot of corporate success. Believe in yourself and take a leap of faith.

Thanks, the Upsc journey started on a high note but didn't end in Lbsnaa. I hope this next phase will take me somewhere that will reward my efforts. Grind is on.

Tech industry is halwa in front of UPSC, even you if you put 20 percent of effort you have put in Laxmikant, gog Cheng leong, Spectrum, current affairs etc you will ace this field. I also tried for UPSC after my post grad MCA, infact got disillusioned with corporate jobs and could see nothing other than UPSC as a fulfilling career option, regretted it after 3 years, At ripe age of late 20s got a job through jugaad, did the grind and 10 years later I am at same level as my classmates who went the traditional way of campus placements and software engineering.

I have been in your position. I prepared for 3 years after graduation and couldn't crack. Feeling depressed for 2 months I decided to get in tech. Now I am getting praises from my manager and also promoted to team lead as java developer. All because of the hard work i learnt during my upsc preparation.
