I am Stucked in a very weird situation, I am final year mechanical engineering student who was earlier preparing for product management/management consulting entry level roles but due to recession and layoffs and coming from a tier 3 college, I have to change my mind as first is non tech background and second tier 3 college tag , it was looking difficult for me to get an opportunity , I started preparing for gate but now after spending 6-7 months , I am realising, it never aligned with my goals , now what should I do I want to pivot to business analyst/entry product roles any how , I am graduating in June 2024 , neither I have much time left nor good companies are coming for placements , please help me out community

No bhai. " get a life" is d last thing i will say to anyone. Telling you smthng i tell my 20 yo cousin or smthg i would do if was 20 again. Don't waste your youth energy for companies who would sack you once their 2 quaters go bad and the consultants at McK tell them to cut the cost. The sheer amount of energy of your youth given away for a ceo to buy him another penthouse? You can sleep for 4 hours , have one meal and still have enormous energy to do anything..you want to spent it in bloody cubicle to earn email recognition? Give one year to these cubicles and you will understand. Give it a try then comeout as soon as you realise you can do this later also but not other things later....
If you want to get into analytics, and if you don't have coursework in the final semester try to get an internship, don't slack there and you'd be made FTE.
This internship shall also help you get other analytics jobs next year once you're done with your college.
Not specifically to analytics purely but actually more of a product oriented roles , how should i start building the necessary skillset apart from what I already have , @SebastianFettel you Re already sailed through it , it would be great , if u could elaborate me little more!
