Hi grapevine community. Need your inputs. My sister has done MBA in human resources and has been working as a recruiter. For last couple of months she is trying to switch but there are not enough opportunities out there or she is not getting calls for any of them. She has two years of experience. Folks from Human Resource background, what is the scope of career growth in the industry going forward. Does college background matters when applying for HR positions in reputed MNCs. What can one do to navigate through this. Other question I had was, is it worth exploring other domains out there. Are there vocational courses where one can learn new skill and use that to land a job
Hey. Would suggest she joins a mid level company or somewhat established startup as a junior HR Business Partner. This would open up a myriad of roles for her. This is the best solution I can think of given her background. If she wants to foray out of HR, she should do it out of interest.

College tag really matters for some. Graduates from a tier 1 HR college like TISS/XLRI have opportunities at established firms with CTC upwards of 20 plus and have a growth trajectory planned as well. Also in a lot of firms your background matters before someone gets a shortlist.
How would you suggest someone with not a strong background to proceed
