What should be the compensation for Series B funded fintech
I am just wondering what the compensation for these roles (CMO CPO) at series B funded fintech startups in India.. Based on that, looking to choose MNC or startup for my next stint https://www.financialexpress.com/business/brandwagon-jupiter-ropes-in-swiggys-anuj-rathi-as-chief-product-and-marketing-officer-3245045/
5-10 CR/year in equity and 5-6 CR/year in base pay/cash, but don’t expect that you’ll be offered the same comp.
Jupiter is a late-stage company 7-year old company even though they’ve raised only twice.
🤯🤯I can't believe this 5 to 6 cr per annum number.. I just can't. Is there anything to backup this claim..I think most well known founders and CEO also just make 2 to 3 crore per year so there's no way these CMO CPO make above that...
Most VPs and SVPs at decacorns already make 2 CR+.
Founders may take home lesser cash in early stage, but that’s the deal for getting most of the equity.

Adding on - cash salaries typically taper off at 3 cr as maximum upper limit. Most companies stop at 2 cr.
Esops could be up to 1% at hired ceo/CXO levels. Which would be about $5M grant for the above person at Jupiter.
5 cr cash salaries are absurd, apart from absolute edge cases, no one gets paid that.
There are enough publicly listed tech firms in india where you can find annual compensation for executives.
For example, thyrocare MD is an ex BcG senior partner who gets paid 3.5 cr cash + 9 cr pharmeasy stock (much lower now!) annually.
At Uber a director would make about 2-2.5 cash with RSUs on top.
