Switching to software engineering roles from data science

Please answer below doubts 1. Already know AWS, sql, java and some other software engineering stuff so how much prerequisite I need for this switch 2. ⁠will my package start where I left in software engineering role or I will be treated as freshers and will be given same package as freshers are getting will my software engineering experience will be count or not as currently I am having 8 year of experience and getting close to 30+ LPA

I am a data scientist with 4.5 years of experience and want to transition to software engineering. In DS, we do not code the ways its done in SW roles. Moreover, I am not from CS background. How do I get started on preparing to get into tier 1 companies as SWE / SDE if I want to achieve this in the next 1/1.5 years?

Hi All, I have 6 YOE. Initial 2.5 years I worked as Backend developer in Python, Django, AWS and Little bit JS. After that all of my experience is in Data Engineering mostly in GCP (have few certifications as well.) Currently I am working at Walmart. Most of the work I do in Data side is adhoc and projects are also not upto the expectations lot of manual work is also there. I am not really enjoying my career as data engineer. Pay is good. I am thinking to move back to Software Engineering, 1. is it a good idea for long term? 2. What skill should I focus on if I have to move back? 3. Is it just the projects that I am working on making data engineer look less interesting to work ?

I have been working at a financial company for last 8 months (my first job out of college). I don't like the work and contemplating switching to SDE roles. Does it make sense to switch to SDE? Also is career growth and compensation generally higher for SDEs?

As a SWE having 5yoe in Java I find myself absolutely bored and done with this profile currently preparing to switch to Data Analytics domain and try to build my tech stack from there. I wanna ask how many of you successfully transitioned and what tips would you offer. Also query to managers who are interviewing such roles what are your expectations and suggestions. I am a technical support engineer with less than two years of experience in the industry. I am working in tier 2 support where it's not much of telecommunication but is fairly technical, tool based though and I feel the urge to switch to an SDE role as i feel my knowledge base is getting restricted to a mere tool than the technology around. How should I approach the companies and switch the domains?
