Hey fellow PMs (or hopefuls like me!),
So, I’ve been on the job hunt for a Product Manager gig for a solid 4 months now, and let me tell you—it’s been a ride. I’ve tweaked my resume, pulled out the fancy PM lingo, customized every bullet point like it’s an art form, and asked everyone (yes, everyone) I know for referrals. And yet... crickets. 🦗
Here’s the rundown of what I’m doing:
- The Resume Magic Show 🎩: Tailoring every line to match the JD like a pro, highlighting every PM skill I’ve got—product vision, user insights, data stuff, you name it. And yet, nada.
- Referrals Galore 🚀: Former colleagues, LinkedIn connections, even my cat’s second cousin’s friend if it would help—still waiting for a bite.
- Networking Olympics 🏅: Joining PM communities, hitting up webinars, commenting on LinkedIn like a social butterfly, all in hopes of a recruiter noticing me in the crowd.
At this point, I’m thinking I might need to summon some supernatural help, or maybe there's just a cheat code I haven’t unlocked yet? 😂
For anyone who’s cracked the PM job search lately or knows what these mysterious hiring algorithms really want—help a fellow PM out? Any advice on how to finally breakthrough and actually land an interview?
Thanks for reading my rant—I mean, plea for help.
