Is FOMO on moving abroad valid?

I am seeing a lot of people (most without and some with a good job here in India) move out to Europe and sometimes US to pursue MS. Is it really worth it for me to take this path if I have a decent paying job here? I think I'll have to start preparing ASAP if I decide to move, since post MS my experience here won't matter much. A person with 2 years of experience and another with a year of experience pre MS will command similar pay post MS. Pls correct me if I'm wrong. (For context, I'm 23 and my remuneration is 20lpa at a startup)

Currently with 3+ yrs of experience and earning around 36 LPA ( 28 fixed and 8 esops ). Getting a feeling like I am not earning enough and also I am getting a FOMO looking at my friends who are doing MS and settled in US. I want to experience it, but not sure if it’s worth it or should I look for switch to get out that fomo? It’s now or never for doing MS as I am will be getting almost 4-5 yrs experience in next few years. Also, Feeling like I am getting old for MS Please give suggestions.

Hi, I am currently working as an software developer (5+ years experience)with around 40LPA CTC. Most of the people in my circle have gone there 2-3 years back. Now I am having a fear of missing out, I applied for a few universities and I have got an admit in MS in CS. Is it worth it to migrate to another country and start again at this point of my career? What is your opinion on work in USA compared to India? Need some experienced folks with honest answers please.

I'm working as a software Engineer at a startup with almost 2 YOE. Looking at most of my friends going to usa for masters right after college i felt like I'm making a mistake by not doing the same after listening software engineers earning 100K us dollars there. I thought I'll give myself two years get some work experience and then think about it but honestly I'm still confused if i should switch(which is not proving to be so simple in the current job market) or should I go for masters (again confused here in choosing between usa or Germany or Australia). Will taking almost 40 Lakhs of loan money and doing it be worth it ? Seriously damn confused about what next step to take. When I spoke with the CTO here, he advised it's not worth and you can be earning almost similar money here soon. I'd say FOMO is also a big thing here. As i tell myself let's take the risk, 2 years of study will be done soon and then work for 3-4 years , make big money , repay the loan and get back to India. I'd be having the international exposure, experiencing some above average lifestyle than India , so confused man Any grapeviners who might have seen people around them taking this step please suggest me what to do, any advice is greatly appreciated 🙏

There's obviously the advantages of making more money and having a better lifestyle. But given the sacrifice on your circle of friends and family in India, is over indexing on just professional outcomes a sensible enough thing to do? How do you guys think around it?

I am currently working (2 yoe) at a decent service based startup (CTC 7L) but I feel like I could do much better. This job feels easy (nothing new to learn). #background I graduated in electrical from a tire II college, since I fell in ♥️ coding (thanks to robotics club and YouTube) i choose this career, but now looking at all the other profiles I feel i am not getting access to those cheese jobs, kind of those that have high scope to learn and earn. So I feel like getting into a top college and getting a masters in CS might help me. What do you all think ? [Thinking about Germany because of no tuition fees and safety]

I'm 27, I've got 3 years of experience. 2 pre mba as a software developer at a US MNC (financial sector) and then total 1 year experience post mba (top 5 bschool India) as a pm. I quit my job for 7 months post mba to pursue entrepreneurship with an accelerator. Due to recent experiences, I've kind of had it and want to explore opportunities abroad. I know the MS route is the most common but back then I couldn't have afforded it. So I got a master's here because I got a good bschool. Now I'm feeling I'm stuck here, so for anyone who's managed to successfully move abroad post mba in India. 1. How did you do it? (Except internal transfers) 2. How many yoe did you have post mba? 3. Did you take a hit in comp (PPP basis) I am currently making 33lpa fixed + 6-7 in bonus/esops etc. I don't speak any foreign languages. What are my options? Do I have any options?
