Weekend braining post

I will be starting my career in tech as an FTE next month. Although I wanted to start in a PBC, life had other plans for me. Need some advice or maybe something which you wish you knew if you were my age for a successful career in tech. Learning and growth at utmost priority, don't care much about wlb at least till I am not 30 PS : base is 17 but have a huge amount of loan to repay.

Here’s a brief intro about me: I’ve worked as both software engineering manager & software technical architect over the last 18+ years on various tech stacks managing backend, frontend and a little bit of cloud. I have seen ups and downs in the software industry. Currently I’m working as a senior architect in one of the product based companies in India.

All the things that one has done so far at times you feel you could have taken different path. Could have studies different subject (AI/ML/Tech?) Could have started something of your own after passing out from college Could have work harder on this which can give disproportionate returns( both personal and professional) Getting married early and investing as early as possible. I try to be grateful for things which I already have (and there are so many) but then there are moments where you feel you could have done better much better actually

So I graduated from a Tier 1 college (non IIT NIT) in May 2021, majoring in CS, and got a job as a Software Engineer. And then just after a few weeks changed to a more CS based good named company. Gonna complete a total 2 years of experience, but not feeling if I want to be in the same profession my entire life (even if I consider becoming an Engineering Manager at some stage, that would easily require me first taking atleast 5 more years as an SWE). Not like I don't like coding etc. but feels like this ain't for me. So at this point I'm confused if this is my current job that I am feeling like this and it would get better if I change (there was a false alarm like situation that happened when I started this job, so could be a bias), or go back to school to do an MBA (lately I've been getting attracted to it like a magnet) Even if I go for an MBA, I would want to try hands on on various specialisations (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Strategy), but will keep a good enough focus on Product, my prior tech knowledge could help me. Looking at both options, I've been in a dilemma since a very loooooonnngggg time, unable to decide which one to choose. Any people who've been in similar situations, can you please help me out ?

Just kicked off my career, and i'm figuring out my path to become DoP in next 7y. Do you switch at right time? What kind of skillset should you hone to become one?

Questioning life choices currently. I think I gave taken the wrong path for myself. I don't really know what would suit me. I know that it's alright to f around and figure out stuff early career but I'm worried about my salary and career trajectory. As in, I do not want to be stuck in entry level roles forever. What do you think? Any anecdotes?

currently I work in an ai consulting company (<40 folks) with 20+ lpa salary. recently I got an offer from a big mnc bank for around 15% hike on my total ctc. I informed my current org yesterday and they have countered me with a 20% hike now. I am confused on what to choose. ps: I have ~5 yoe.

I'm a Senior QA Engineer with 7.5 yoe in gaming, e-commerce domain. I've been severely burnt out due to covid, repetitive work in QA and nothing new or building. I've been exploring and interested in building products, startups, marketing, design, product roles. I'm in a crossroad to choose the next role I can focus on. What would you do if you were in my place? I'm also thinking to take IELTS and apply for MBA or some masters in Europe. How well would that workout?
