Need your guidance, networking tips and feedback

Hey everyone, I wanted to share an experience that many of you might relate to. Over the past few months, I have applied to over 40+companies/ startups for Ui/Ux designer / product designer job positions. Despite putting my best foot forward and ensuring my applications were tailored to each role, I haven't received any responses. I even applied through platforms like Well Found, where my applications were accepted, but unfortunately, I wasn't scheduled for any interviews.

This journey has been challenging and disheartening, but I'm determined to keep pushing forward. I'd like to ask for your advice and insights on the. Feedback and improvement.

Naina, Getting a design job is super tough right now. So many people from across the world will apply for a remote job. I got shocked when I saw more than 17k + applied for just one open position.
Try applying in WFO companies in Delhi so that the competition will be less.

All the best and never lose hope.

Networking is a long term game. Reach out to people and get feedback on your portfolio. Once they give you feedback, apply it and show it to them again. Do this multiple times. Build trust that you can learn and collaborate. This takes years to develop.

Won’t call your portfolio below average, but it is definitely average. A portfolio in this day and age needs to have stunning visuals and great storytelling. It needs to include only the most important parts of the journey of a project, and should be succinct enough to skim through. Your portfolio needs a lot of work on visuals, storytelling and cutting down the extensive documentation of methods and replace it with insights.

Hope this helps. All the best!
