Headcount decreased from 145 to 80 with the target of bringing it to 50. Ceo is a dumbo with no clear understanding of product and future. They launched a new product called Verk which was an AI agent that could do tasks of all kind for you but in background they hired cheap labour to do those tasks manually. Total sham. They aggressively hired across verticals for it and when the bubble burst and investors whopped asses of Ceo and cto (who is a co-founder but just follows master’s orders) by asking them not to use funds raised for a different product to fund this new sham product, they fired people within 2-3 days. Extraordinary performers were let go of just because of office politics and bootlicking by non performing old timers. Btw some founding members also resigned citing future difficulties since this is the 7th pivot they are taking. Founder ensures no firings will happen and then fires folks the next day. Sham company. Beware before joining!

I have always dreamt of playing an electric guitar on stage. I started to learn guitar in late 2020 and it's been 1.5 years since I stopped playing it do to multiple reasons like bad time management, upskilling for switching, work etc. I always wanted to work in companies not directed towards IT such as Mercedes Benz, Philips, Samsung, Siemens, Ather etc and work in areas where UI/UX design overlaps with physical product design. Physical product design is my first love and will continue to be so as that field still fascinates me. Not everyone is privileged enough to pursue their passions and might have to work in certain areas where they are partially interested and pay is good coz, hey! We gotta pay bills. I wanted to learn multiple languages and was learning German a couple of years ago. Again, due to the reasons listed above, I had to drop out. I want to travel abroad for work, work in multi cultural teams etc. I always wanted to run marathons and reach the top of Nandi Hills (a hill on the outskirts of Bangalore) by cycling because I was once a obese kid and wanted to prove myself wrong. Now, I have to loose 13 kilos and I'm on working on it. But I sometimes wonder if I can do these things as I had so much to work on. I was pretty good in sketching. In fact, I was pretty good once upon a time in my design school. Now, I barely sketch. I don't want to loose that part of me who use to sketch day and night. I want to have an Instagram page with all the digital illustrations I wanted to make. We live in times where one has to consistently switch jobs, upskill everyday, spend time with family and friends (not that I don't want to, but I also love my personal time), take care of aging parents, take care of kids, take care of household, travel to work, get enough sleep for 6-7 hours a day- basically be an adult. I sometimes wonder if life is nothing but a graveyard of dreams. I understand that one can't do everything in life and sacrifice is inevitable in life.

Why do relatives feel that they should always talk about doing things the right way and how do they know what they say is the right way? Some examples - - to lose weight, focus on walking and fully come to normal BMI and then only do weight training. But, research suggests weight training to be more beneficial for both weight loss and increasing metabolism - we should drink hot water to lose weight. What?😂 - get married early and marriage is the only way to go! - our screen time shouldn't be more with mobile, but rather with tv - don't use earphones, they damage ears - Some fruits are beneficial for diabetes Don't get me wrong, I love relatives. I just don't enjoy someone giving advice when I didn't ask them. Especially when I can't trust their source of information for anything - life advices, religion, shastra, traditions, women's rights etc. And, I am really tired fighting battle and tackling so much misinformation about everything. All I do is just listen to them and move on! Wanted to know what do you guys do?

For context, I've got a good-ish job that I think pays me easy money. i started working 5 months ago. lately, I'm feeling worthless and really thinking about quitting my job and do something impactful or crazy or financially irresponsible. Help

I am sharing a screen shot of a separate conversation on this platform started by a student. I found it be coming from a young fellow who was inspired by these words of wlb and best pay etc. But then there may be a mature (10+yr ex) chap who reverted to him to focus on learning. I was amazed by the confidence of the author of the post in reverting to that fellow while taking a shot at his pseudo name also ( which was quite funny actually).
