Dark Pattern from Snitch- apparel e- commerce platform
Recently came across this strange charges when you try to return/exchange order to snitch which sells clothing and was featured on shark tank also. They haven't mentioned anywhere properly regarding this hidden cost while you try to return Did you see such absurd charges for return on any other platform. Wil
Not everything is dark pattern 🤦
It is fair that returns are charged, esp for small business. Returns are big hassle - people return fakes stuff, use it and return - basically misused
But yes, genuine cases where product are delivered bad should be considered. Though either party will anyway incur a cost for reverse logistics
I agree. If I’m not wrong returns constitutes nearly 30-40% of total items sold in e-commerce. It’s only fair to charge a return fee.

A simple nudge to users describing that why returns costs before ordering can be helpful, not against charging but for most of India who are used to Myntra, amazon, Flipkart etc, it might come as a new thing. Also there a some genuine edge cases where the return is needed as the very purpose of e comm is defeated if you don't have that. Keep it transparent shd be a improvement

Especially for a country like India, some measures like this is mandatory for businesses to survive. I don't think this is a dark pattern.
You will be amazed to know the number of returns or exchanges because the user wants to use bit doesn't want to keep it or pay for it.

Yes. Lots of brands charge reverse shipment charges. In case of Snitch they're charging for returns and not exchanges because from a business perspective it makes sense as they rely on courier partners for the reverse shipment and the reverse pickup and QC costs money
Not a dark pattern. Almost everyone in its category does it. Get used to it as no VC is funding our return packages anymore.
