How to get re-hired

I worked as a SWE for 2.5 years at an Indian MNC, I honestly didn't like the project as my daily work used to on a legacy technology, My manager never approved me (or anyone for that matter) to move to a different project with good tech stack and challenging workspace. So, resignation was my only choice without any backup offer, which I chose and later I unfortunately had to undergo a surgery, My doctor had advised me to take 3 months break from everything and stay home. It's been 6 monts since I left my job, currently I am revising the concepts of Java (Core & Advanced), SQL, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap along with Spring Boot. My problem is do recruiters consider my profile, even if I get an opportunity, do recruiters consider my salary negotiation, and does my career break affect the hiring process? Please guide me. Sadly I got D band, I had resigned but due to personal circumstances I couldn't find an offer and resumed back. However timing was wrong so happened around March end when I rejoined. So being a C3B my salary is now reduced by 20% I am thinking to take a break and upgrade my skills. I can't study along with job. I am trying to switch but somehow not getting any interview calls for Scrum Master role. Feeling lost. Any referrals or any guidance is highly appreciated. Thank you for reading thus far.

Hi , can folks here guide steps /suggest how to get SDE role at entry role . I regret giving 2 yrs a career for the civil services exam. I graduated with BTech in 2021 . If I had only sat for college placements at my Tier 1 college, I wouldn't have been living with regrets. I have been doing projects in the MERN stack . I also have skills like Postgresql, Trpc and am familiar with using ORMs and type validators like Zod . Since I had no previous experience at internship or full time , no companies are shortlisting my profile .

Hi I have been recently laid off from my company they have given me a reason as a lack in my performance overtime although that's not entirely true but to some extent it is. I think according to my experience as SDE around 4.5 years.I don't have skills and knowledge one should have. I am a SDE 2 sometimes I think I still work and have skills as SDE 1 now I am looking for change Struggling with this thought of how to pick myself up as this condition is self inflicted How to get back ? Can anyone here help me?

Hello people, I graduated last year and joined a fast-paced startup back in july as an SDE (2023 grad). So many things have changed so far within the company. Company has closed good series B funding. The top level management has changed, my manager and colleagues resigned due to the kind of work and cultural shift and lots of work but I stood there and delivered projects (was making them from scratch). Whatever was thrown on me during this time, I took that as an opportunity and delivered that. I literally worked on 4-5 tech stacks and built complex projects from scratch with 3 members team only. Now it seems like their ask is never ending and they again want me to put in another techstack since the existing products we built are working fine and we are just maintaining it now. The culture of the company is still very good despite having lots of work though the pay is above average. I am seeing my friends around me joining another company and getting much better hikes. I also want to make a switch but deep down in my heart I have these questions coming up: 1. Should I switch before completing 2 years since it's my first job and I have spent only 1 year so far here. I really don't want to make this habit of switching again and again. 2. The kind of bonding I have made with my colleagues so far. Will I be able to get the same environment in the new company? 3. Should I join the startup again or should I target MNCs now. Because I have been building multiple complex projects for the past 1.7 years (this is my 3rd startup) from scratch and this is also getting normalized for me. Is it time to work on a scale? 4. Feel less valued sometimes. Despite delivering lots of efforts, it seems like I am not getting valued much because it's kinda hardware company and things go around that only. 5. Although, I am working on complex projects here but sometimes I feel missing out if I hear what others are doing. Should I go to a pure software based company? 6. I am not making much here to be honest despite having much better coding skills (10 base + 2.5 PB + 2.5 VP) but I am able to manage my money well despite living in Bangalore. Should I be hungry for more? I would be happy to read your opinion on these guys.

I was recently laid off. I am applying for jobs. One question that has been a bother for me is on my unfortunate past short stints. Need help from folks on how to tackle these Q's. I am applying for product / strategy roles. 2015 - tier 1 engg 2019 - tier 1 MBA 1.5 yrs - did my own startup...fairly successful but later failed due to covid 11 months - worked in a fairly well known fast growing startup - left coz wanted to move to a product centric startup 14 months - worked in product based big unicorn startup - got laid off 10 months - joined an early stage startup - startup failed and laid off again What should be my interview strategy? How do I portray my story in a positive light?

Feeling stagnant in my tech support job having 6.5 years of experience, currently working in Bosch. Contemplating resigning to pursue software development engineering roles after upskilling myself. Hello everyone, How is your interview preparation going on ? And do you also find it re starting it again while working in a company in parallel ? My story is I have 9-6 working hours but sometimes stretch it in night too. Whenever I plan on doing DSA either i find it too boring or my streak gets broken due to company work. Any plan on how to do both parallel? Thank you
