How to receive foreign payment of freelance
Fellow freelancers of coders/designers. I used to freelance via upwork. Now I have a direct UK based client outside of Upwork. I don't know how to receive a payment. - Do i set up a PayPal account ? - He said he can try using WISE transfer ? Is it possible to transfer directly to my personal bank account ? - What are the rules ? Does RBI creates issues in bank transfer/PayPal ? - Anything I am missing? Want to complete this all today so he sends it tomorrow and I get a Diwali baksheesh :) Help appreciated.

Even I get via the same. Just mention to your client to transfer via wire transfer
> Do i set up a PayPal account
You could, only need a international enabled bank and debit card
> He said he can try using WISE transfer
Similar to PayPal, better exchange rates though
> Is it possible to transfer directly to my personal bank account
Also yes, just need to be enabled, talk to the bank for a SWIFT code and accepting remittances
> What are the rules
Conversion rate received would be lower. 1GBP would be something like 97-98INR not 101-102. Banks take a cut. Taxation you would be familiar since you did freelance before.
> Does RBI creates issues in bank transfer/PayPal
Unless you're receiving monies in millions, no!
But OP, do be careful to claim ITR properly. Now that this money is in via foreign remittance, it will be tracked to you

@Kotakachori11 OP any tips to get clients as a freelancer?
Find a niche. E.g. Don't be just a website to developer. Be a fintech website developer working on react native.
Be selective with work. Start with Indians. Work with westerners/NRIs. Use linkeind. Chase less attract more. Word of mouth is most important. Build digital assets, retainerships, side businesses and Get big name tags in your CV. Sirf freelance se Ghar nahi chalta
