Importance of Aesthetics

Today on my way to office saw someone threw a lays wrapper out on the street. That person was in an audi a6, surely this car is costly, hence that person is well off, still he doesnt have the common sense to dispose off the garbage responsibly.

Honestly it amazes me everyday I step out into traffic in this city. 1. Tempos, autos, two wheelers just parked where ever tf they want, talking to their long lost cousin by the looks of it. 2.The random “hero” scooter dude who HAS to run the red light and almost take me out with him. 3. Jaywalking, lol. What’s that here? As long as you can cross the road with your life be thankful. 4. Lanes are merely a suggestion unless there’s actually a fucking physical barrier that prevents people cutting lanes. It’s pretty much tarmac chaotic dashing cars let loose. Idk how this city will ever handle the progress it’s supposedly destined to have.

I have felt that being a designer in India is super hard because of the lack of validation that we get from society and family.

To all the Entrepreneurial minds here. If given enough money and resources and time what problem will you solve? I’ll go first. If I had enough, I would solve air pollution. I think its a massive massive problem in urban India and will severely affect us in the long run What will you solve?

I’ve always had this question on why Indians are very stingy when it comes to paying money for premium products. I agree there are Indians especially in the young generation who aren’t shy from spending for quality products but the masses are still stuck in the bargaining or cheap mindset. When we look for cars the first thing we probably check is kitna mileage dega ? When we look at a premium product we compare it to a copy or a product that does not offer the same quality or service that a premium product offers. What are the reasons to it and when or how can we come out of it. This is one of the reasons we have got the “slave / miser ” label outside our county and why we’ve got weak passports which make it difficult to take a vacation like citizens of other countries .

Whenever I read foreign media outlets, India is the new Asian Tiger that will outpace most emerging economies in growth. But Indian media and Indian people act like India is the worst place to be. The dichotomy is extremely confusing. Why is it that foreign media coverage on our economy is more favourable than our own hopes and aspirations from this country? PS: I am really big on Indian Exceptionalism, the belief that India's economic development and trajectory are unique or exceptional compared to other nations, driven by our large and diverse population, thriving middle class, our entrepreneurial spirit, and the emphasis on technology and innovation. Question came up because it’s Independence Day 🇮🇳 A lot of us have had the privilege to be able to go abroad, but ended up choosing not to. For me, it was just believing there’s enough growth here in the coming few decades + friends/family Looking to hear if the reduced brain drain is actually true, and what makes people stay.
