Guess all that school practice didn't help.

had an interview today literally sucked at it I know practice is what I need to do.

I’m sure all of us are above average at at least one thing. It could range from making a mean Maggi to playing an instrument to making new friends to flirting to anything else. What’s yours? I like researching in depth about financial products and have a good working knowledge of common topics such as tax, mutual funds, insurance. 😊

After seeing current placement stats of top IITs, even after Day6 not even 50% of the batch is unplaced can we say that 2024 is the unluckiest batch? Students with good CGPA, having internships in reputed internships are not getting placed. It's worse for mediocre students. What are alternativev for these unplaced students?

I'll go first, I would perhaps slap my past self and ask him to not study too hard for the JEE, take some time off and fetch more life experiences.

This is honestly so sad. I'm 21 and have seen all this stuff happen first hand when I was in school especially amongst guys. Delhi has become a hellhole, especially for children. Delhi was always the trendsetter when it came to hurling abuses but it has gone too far in the past 10-15 years. Memories of fights outside my school(decent private school) are still very fresh, people used to pick up whatever they could lay their hands on. If you were a guy who was super slim and/or on the shorter side you were most definitely going to be picked on and if you retaliated, good luck. You mess with the wrong person, there would be cars with goons and hockey sticks outside waiting for you at 2:15 sharp. A lot of times they didn't turn violent but events such as these definitely have an impact, you never forget such an interaction. Has the situation gotten worse everywhere or is this exclusive to Delhi?

I had applied for an internal job posting at my corp a few weeks ago. Did a written test. Got the news today that I didn’t make the cut cause I got 3 out of 15 questions wrong. I’m fully aware I could have done better. Maybe I went in fully cocked and tried to blitz through in record time. Now I gotta wait a few more months to try again, or maybe another post. I feel like shit. Tips to get over this?

Hot take: IITians are nothing but a cesspool of entitled bunch who think they are elite. An outdated classist notion of them being successful, whoever filters on the IIT tag will lead their company to utter annihilation.

Working at TCS has been nothing short of a disappointment. The so-called "job security" they boast about is the only thing going for them. Job security alone doesn't pay the bills or bring job satisfaction. My pay package is so laughable + there is no room for career growth here. It is almost like they want you to stagnate, my managers know so little that I can only think that the smart people leave and only the mediocre remain at TCS. TCS is a place where dreams go to die. I joined through TCS Ninja ~2 years ago because Amazon revoked my offer and that was my biggest mistake. I am preparing for FAANG again now.
