YourStory has become Startup Washing Machine
Every time a startup faces backlash from community or users, the founders just go to YourStory to white wash their image. Saw OLA's founder Bhavish oozing gyan and patriotism, Zomato's founder Deep come and answer cute simple questions and now Mamaearth before IPO. They used to do candid reporting but long gone are those days

YS has to also earn monies, no? 🥲 though, it is going the paid awards road.
Looks like only way for a media house to earn money is by selling their soul

To earn “a lot of money”
Agree with @MightyLazyGeekStar
The ken / morning context take pride in bashing/sensationalising ‘wrongdoings’.
Thats how they get subscribers.
Investors and startups equally hate these 3 publications.
YS is doing the opposite.
To each his/her own.
I like The Better India. 😀

No one takes YS seriously. Stopped reading it 5-6 years back . They are of the philosophy " I scratch you scratch our backs "
Yourstory was always PR anyway. They gotta make money somehow. Posting regular startup news doesn’t generate revenue anyway with ad blockers.
I stopped reading that around 2016 when I saw several pure PR articles. So this isn't new,

No one works for free. Everyone eventually comes up with their own sustainable business model.

On the other hand The morning context is slam dunking on startups every other day. Every second day I wake up to news about a startup in a fix.

I unfollowed YS long back. Initially, thought it's inspiring, but over the period realised that it just making me feel bad about myself. To sell the article, they just create FOMO. It's like everyone is raising 100cr and doing so good in business and I am still expecting for 20% hike. #slavery jaisa feel ho Raha
