100% remote work is not working for me

I have been on a permanent wfh role since covid. Yes, been 2+ years since I stepped into an office. I stay alone and have little expenses but also 0 social life. Friends are all spread out. Not on any dating app because its exhausting. Can someone just talk about any impacts on their personal life from work life? Does anyone here feel a void too? I’d love to connect.

Basically, I am interested in working for remote job. I have found far less resources and majorly all of them mention about open source contribution. Anyone here who has gotten a remote job, can you explain the following- 1. How the experience has been? 2. How you got that job? 3. What are the pros/cons? 4. Would you recommend people to take it?

I was in a remote job from 2020, until last year where I was laid off in November. Then when I started searching for new companies my priority was to work on site, but again I got a remote job. My problem is living in the house 24*7 make it dull after sometimes and you forgot the line between personal life and work life. All I did was waking up in the bed and then opening laptop and vice versa in the night. Plus you don't have social interaction. Now I have become an introvert living in my own room and it takes enormous energy to go out and meet people. Is remote job really worth it wasting my 20's sitting in the home ? How are you folks coping up with this thing?

I was always used to working from the office. COVID changed the game and made remote mandatory. I didn't like it. I used to yearn to go to the office and finally changed jobs to an on site only role a year later just so that I could work from the office. But now I miss remote work. The one year sub consciously charged me. Interested to know some of your stories.

Does anyone here work at any remote startups that are based out of India? How is the work culture? How is the pay? Do we actually get paid in dollars? What's career growth?

Hi I got a remote job and planning to shift to tier 4 city. Major reason is to be with family and have slow pace life. The small town has good enough infrastructure including good internet and road connectivity. Do you think it would be a good idea in short term or long term? I am planning to continue remote job only until the day comes where i wont be able to find remote job.

I am being offered a role by a company that works remotely. Last time I worked too long at home, I developed severe anxiety issues cause I just stayed put inside home for wayy too long. I know a lot of people love working from home. But small rant here. Honestly, straight out of college I thought I would do too. But no, I absolutely do not. Why? 1. No personality development. It's honestly like an online college all over again (1/2 of my college "life" was online). I talk to a screen, waste a lot of time otherwise. 2. I don't have a room to call my own. I know this is going to make me sound like a privileged brat but I need my privacy to feel my full confident self. My family members are always on top of my head and spy on me during work. No they really do. 3. I hate, absolutely LOATHE approaching people on teams. I'm more social, confident and comfortable working in an offline setting be it presenting something or talking to senior folks in general. 4. I have NO life outside of the computer/home. My hobbies, interests everything are inside the tiny room I share with my parents. I still have 2 different desks (which are literally next to each other) for work and personal stuff respectively. When I had offline semesters, it was really awesome as I had balance. I graduated in 2023 and of course I have a lot to learn, but I'm seriously thinking about searching for another job that's not WFH. I'm still early career and I think I should not be working remote. Am I stupid?
