Career advice please

Hey everyone! Requesting some guidance please! I have 3.4 yoe in a different domain and I wish to transition to HR. Would greatly appreciate your insights regarding how to plan the transition. And also, people around me have been really negative regarding the scope in HR. Would greatly appreciate if someone could let me know how are the growth prospects in HR

So I left my job in Jan 2024 after 3.4 yoe. I wish to switch my profile to HR, and therefore, I wish to pursue an MBA degree. Now the problem starts: my family is pressuring me that if I'm unable to convert any good colleges, how will I justify my gap year so I should take up a job. I don't wish to take up a job since I want to focus entirely on CAT prep. They are also pressurising me that if I'm unable to convert, then I will have to start from scratch in HR with a low salary and they wish to see me married within next 2-3 years so why would a nice guy marry a girl who is earning 25k-30k a month. So I'm really stressed out. What should I do? Take up a job and then prepare for entrance, or ignore them and just focus on prep, like what's the solution? Everyone is talking about the problem, what's the solution?

Hi! I’m in a huge dilemma and looking out for any advice I can get. I currently have 1.5 years of work ex and want to pursue MBA. Im confused if I should complete 2 years of work ex and then quit to do full time mba prep or quit right away to do prep. My quant is weak so I will need a lot of practice to crack CAT. 2 year criteria comes in so that I can keep options like ISB open as it requires a minimum of 2 year work ex. Any advice would be highly appreciated!

Hi everyone, A bit about me: I'm a 25-year-old female with a CTC of 4.5 LPA and around 2 years of experience. I was forced to resign from my first company, and currently, I don't have any job offers. Job hunting has been very challenging for me. Due to my negative first experience, I'm scared and skeptical about joining another company. Additionally, I don't expect a significant salary hike with a switch right now. I seek advice on pursuing a master's degree. Should I prepare for it? Is it worth it? Will it lead to a better package? I'm really confused between pursuing a master's and looking for another job. Any help, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the queries asked here should be sorted easily if an HR can respond with their insights, but i rarely see any HR participating in discussions, maybe we don't have that many HR's here ? Or maybe you folks want to stay the same as you are on the job, totally useless.

Engineering grad. Transitioned into marketing right out of college. ~2 years of experience. Started out on a shit pay, currently underpaid but getting good exposure and learning a lot. This was a conscious decision as I am focused on learning, growth and personal development. Feedback is, I have made massive professional progress in the last 1.5 years and the company too (at my request) is giving me more agency to explore and diversify my skill set. This means; mainly more responsibilities, a few operations related decisions & tasks and a few sales calls and client presentations. I work at a very small startup and I feel, despite having the opportunity to learn here, the environment or mostly the pay is too shit/low. I am already a star employee here and I feel it would be a good time to switch, to be amongst a group wherein I can get more challenges and opportunities. Of course, a higher pay would be wonderful as well. While, job switching is an option, I am also thinking about doing an MBA. I feel if I can build upon this momentum and get into a good college - it would negate years of grind that I would have to put (in the current scenario). I really would like you good people to analyse my situation and help me out, please. TIA.

Hey Folks, I am a final year BMS grad from DU with over 14 months of internship experience at various startup’s as a generalist intern. I am out looking for a job but every startup needs immediate joining whereas I have 3 months of college left and I see no point in interning anymore. How should I spend the next 3 months so that I can get an offer easily when I pass out ? Also : Open to interviewing 😛

Hi there, I have 3.5 years of IT engineering experience and am considering transitioning to consulting. However, I don't have an MBA. Is this switch feasible? If so, what skills and experiences should I highlight on my CV? Are there any certifications or courses that would help? I appreciate any advice or insights!

I m Tier 1 MBA with 3.5 years of experience in Strategy and Marketing. Took a paycut on my 2022 CTC to join a great company in a great role in 2023 during all layoff scenes of early 2023. This year also I m expecting hardly 7 - 8% hike. It is frustrating 😞. Salary day is the saddest day for me. My current in hand is lesser than my 2nd year salary. I want to switch but just worried about too many switches on my resume.
