Take knowledgeable data withoit notice
I am working at a company & suppose I want to take some data to my personal machine, nothing serious just some sort of file, and code which will be good for learning purpose, is there any way to do it without getting caught????
Put code on pastebin/similar site.
Open on private machine.
If that doesn't work open the web version of vs code. Push code to a private repo as the web version of vs code runs in its own vm.
If this also doesn't work then keep trying some pastebin alternative. All are never blocked.
If on windows where the drive is unencrypted then just shut it down. Load tails on a pendrive and boot from the pendrive, mount harddrive and copy all the shit you want.
If that fails then try opening a free azure/AWS/gcp account and try copying to S3 bucket or equivalent.
If all the above fail
then search some Chinese/Japanese file uploader sites. Some of them are not filtered due to filters being limited to English sites.

Yeaah thank you for all these methods. Now I’ll apply all these checks in my organization. I’ll be fun exercise!

Every fresher thinks the same way. 😂 I am sure you would want to copy the design of the code. See how the base classes are written and abstracted and other stuff. Can be pretty overwhelming in the beginning. But with some experience you’ll start getting hold of it.
I also thought about it in my initial days, but then decided not to. Plenty of online resources available where you can see the code base and learn from there.
Better be safe than sorry.
I am not a fresher, have 3 yoe. Just the code is super solid and I want to retain it.

Since u are asking this question . I assume your company cares about its data
The downside is that you may have cops visiting your place . Consider if it is worth the risk.

Sites, and other cloud storage are blocked. But sometimes legit websites can also be used to exfiltrate the data, in this case VS code web version Elon mentioned. You hunt for these activites, will get alot of juicy findings.
Chinese alternatives for pastebins…it’s usually a best practice to block any traffic to CIS countries. The drive thing, unless someone is having local admin access on their machine, and also can change registry. They can’t share the data.
Generally mounted drives data are logged as well, which is most of the cases shouldn’t be utilized by users, unless there is some business expectation. Including the drive name and mac address, plus the number of times, it’s been used on particular host.
Everything is trackable, just being lazy af, also it’s true not everything can be blocked.
use stack overflow, there's other ways also but
I'll add some beans are best not spilled in open.
