Why are political parties spending so much on Social Media Marketing?
Has the era of rallies and cult of personalities spawning off of fiery speeches a dying breed? Feels like a social media personality may end up becoming our PM some day. πΊπͺπ» for PM in 20 years?

Modi will lose to memes any day

True, but Modi becoming a meme isn't necessarily good. The day he goofs up is the day he will have a PR disaster, right from radar and cloud shenanigans to a+b formulae it hasn't been a good look for him.

young people relate to these and get influenced to give them vote, may call it vulnerable/gullible.
@samosa True. Is GenZ even voting? Last I checked none of the people I know vote.

Oh they are actively trying to woo in GenZ. Had Nirmala Sitharam come to my college and netas from BJP are also going to a few DU North Campus colleges as guests for Cultural Fests. Doesn't happen all that often, at least in my college.
The thing is the political parties are adapting very fast according to to their voters and specifically the 1st time voters.
And everything aside, Modi has mastered the art of reaching out and adapting to the needs of young voters.
He had done certain programmes in and around 2018-19 keeping in mind the school kids and early college goers.
He is doing the same thing before 2024 election by organising influencer awards, meeting with top gamers, etc.
Basically whatever works with the 1st time and young voters, he is ready to do that. And other political parties and politicians are also following the same path !!
