How do you find well paying startups that would hire designers?

I have a good portfolio and have worked with a few amazing clients in India. But recently I got to know that designers in my circles are making 2/3x of what I'm making. This is because they are working with US clientele. Does anyone here have an idea of how to get $100 per hour projects? I see scaling in upwork very time taking and a lot of effort. Any other way?

I’ve heard cred and zeta pay well. Lets make a list here. Ps: I’m helping my cousin with a switch and doing little bit of research on this
