My ex-employer is messing up my background verification

I switched recently from Quantiphi. This was my first switch. It has been more than two months now. And I've still not cleared the FnF with them. My calculations show that I've to return around net 1.5 lacs ruppees of my prorated Bonus to Quantiphi as part of FnF. So I've not been pushing for FnF and nor Quantiphi has communicated anything about it. They have given me separation letter. So I'm confused weather I should ask for FnF or not? If I do not what are the issues I can face in future?

I'm currently working on an FTE job - wherein the offer letter its mentioned "During the term of your employment with the Company, you may not engage in any employment or act in any way, which either conflicts with your duties and obligations to the Company, or is contrary to the policies or the interests of the Company." Now, I'm getting enough time and I want to consider working in a 0-1 startup, and the new company I'm joining will know about my current employer - The above mentioned is the only clause the current employer have regarding working in other company. Can the current employer legally put a case anytime in the future if they get to know this? - what are the loopholes I can use here? What position I can join in as (Consultant, Advisory role) - Still an early career professional in order to avoid conflict afterwards. Thank you for your help!!

I am currently working for a startup for about 3 yrs now and they made me sign a non compete which states that I cannot join a similar domain work for 2 yrs post termination. I am currently in my notice period and have received an offer from a company in a similar domain with good pay and benefits, what should I do?

I work for a fairly popular and large Indian startup and I'm at a considerably senior position. As seen recently also with a lot of startups, my company is creating hurdles in my exit. I've resigned from the company but the company has a policy that allows them to accept or reject resignations at will. They are not accepting my resignation and are threatening me with frivolous law suits. I'm scared and not sure about how true their threats are. Can someone please give references of good lawyers experienced in HR practices, service and employment cases etc.? Will be grateful.

My last company which is a early stage startup has 1 yr non compete clause in the employee agreement and which they asked us to get signed 4 months back on a very short notice to comply with investor requirements. We did it because of just compliance matter. Now I don't have good equation with them and have good offers from competitors. Please suggest should I proceed with the offer or look for something else which doesn't fall into non compete. Please share your experiences.

I am currently doing an SDE Internship in one of the startups in gurugram. Initially I was given a 6 month intern + full time offer, all went well, but in the last month this company is revoking full time offers of some interns and extending the intern offer to 3-4 months. What should I do in this case ? I am literally scared right now?

Hi, I am about to join a new organization (Org D), and they are currently processing my background verification (BGV). I have a concern regarding this process. I am currently working for a mid-sized company (Org C), which does not conduct detailed BGVs. I started my career at Org A in January 2018 as an intern and was converted to a full-time employee in September 2018. During the transition from intern to full-time employee, I briefly joined another company (Org B) for 8 days due to some confusion. This short stint at Org B is visible on my UAN. I am worried about how this might affect my BGV. However, I do have all the necessary documents from all the organizations I have worked with. Please advise. ---

Hi Everyone, Saying from personal experience, I have noticed that 10/10 times I am getting rejected if I say notice period to be 90 days during a Job Switch. All companies are looking for 30/60 days joiners. Even though they themselves have 90 days notice period in their organisation. But let us say if you say to HR that my notice period is 60 days and then get selected, how to manage? How to securely transition from one organisation to another. How to negotiate the notice period effectively?

Sorry for the long post :( I'm a 2021 graduate from a tier 3 college. I was working at a small startup based in Bengaluru that is into SAAS. The headcount is less than 20 and a completely remote job. I don't have any notice period. I was told that I can leave the company whenever I want without any prior notice. And it's not mentioned anywhere in the contract. I had a promotion due in September 2022 in which the new agreement was supposed to be implemented where I had to serve a 90 day notice period and salary hike of 15% of my current CTC. But the promotion was put on hold till now. I asked them multiple times but I was told that it's on hold indefinitely due to "shortage of funds". On December 31st I sent a resignation letter as it will be my last working day. Even though it was a very short notice, I completed all the documentation about the things I worked on. Anyone who can understand English can deploy the entire product. And moreover everyone had worked on the product and almost everyone had a good understanding of the product. Sometime in 2021, I received a bonus of 62k which was sent to my personal bank account (the company itself didn't have a corporate account back then). Since the company didn't provide me any work laptop, I was told casually that I can use the bonus to purchase a new laptop or keep it to myself. I made a mistake of now waiting to get the December month salary before resigning. Now he's telling me that the bonus he sent is for the company laptop and it will be adjusted as my December month salary. When I asked about the purpose of the bonus was not to get the company laptop but to keep it myself, he's refusing to accept it. (Almost everyone in the company uses their personal laptop). And coincidentally there was a service outage as the company uses free services wherever available (for example, oracle cloud free tier, free version of slack, GitHub and lot more).
